LED Panels vs. Traditional Lights
| Ariful Islam
The popularity of LED Panels has been continuously growing over the years. Based on a market research by Goldman Sachs, the marketability of the LED lighting technology increased for up to 28% in 2015 alone. It’s also very likely to hold a market share of over 95% by 2025.
However, if you’re still confused about LED lighting and its benefits, you can take a look at its advantages and compare it to the other types of lighting below.
LED Panels vs. Incandescent Lights
Unlike incandescent lights, LED lighting can conserve up to 80% of energy. It also has a service life that is 25 times longer than incandescent lights.
A 1000 Watt incandescent light bulb rated for 10,000 hours of use can be replaced with a 150 Watt LED lighting; it’s a great option because LED lighting lasts for 250,000 hours or more.
LED Panels vs. Fluorescent Lights
If you compare fluorescent lights to LED Panels, the LED lighting is a more cost-efficient option as it can save you up to 30%.
An LED Panel also has a longer service life compared to fluorescent lights as it can only be used for an average of 10,000 hours – which is only 40% of an LED Panel’s service life. Additionally, a lot of LED lighting also offers dimming, automation, and colour adjustment options.
LED Panels vs. Industrial HID Fixtures
Industrial LED fixtures have a service life of over 100,000 hours. On the other hand, HID lights are equipped Metal Halide bulbs that usually last for only 10,000 hours - possibly less depending on other factors.
A 450 Watt metal halide fixture may be replaced with a 200 Watt LED panels as it can be 60% cheaper while also achieving the same luminous effect.
Though LED Panels are a lighting fixture that most people are not very familiar with, its advantages compared to other lighting are apparent.
